Much like full-service web design, your first step should be to identify your content. Think about all of your constituents (clients, donors, volunteers, staff, community, etc.), what they will want to see, and what you want them to see. Organize your content into an outline.
You can review a large collection of templates at templates411.com, for use with Dreamweaver or Contribute. We advise most clients to avoid PHP or Flash templates. Do, however, review templates in categories other than your own…images can easily be replaced. There are also many websites that offer templates for online content management with Joomla! or Wordpress. VitriFire can modify any of these templates to more closely match your needs.
